Work in Progress

One of the pottery blogs I read gave out an assignment which I was anxious to try. It's nice to have a little push every now and again to try new things. The assignment was to make 12-50 of the same pot (mug, bowl, vase, etc.) but have each one of them different than the others.

I loved doing this! So fun to try. I found that I need to do this again. Now these mugs are not finished, they're not even all the way dry. Some mugs I love, others I like and some I'd be happy to throw away - but I'm not going to. I'm going to fire all of these and then experiment with glazes. I almost don't want to do anything with them, I love having them on the counter looking at me. They feel so hopeful to me.

I love this idea and how it turned out so wonderful. Somehow it reminded me of kids. They look enough alike to be related but they also are individual enough to stand alone. They are unfinished and I really can't wait to see what you do with them! Nice work.

My goal is to post a pic of the finished product in the next couple days. I packed them off and sold a few before I remembered to take a picture. I just get so excited to take them out of the kiln, hold them and then life gets in the way & I move on to something else. Sound familiar?
